WHy are boy bands not popular anymore, they used to be the bomb back in 1995-2002?

the recording industries changed, as trends rise and fall, the boy band will probably return in 20 or so odd years as a fad, i don't think it's that people "grew up", just because you did doesn't mean everyone else is the same age as you...but instead I think the identity ociated with boy bands has fallen with the rise of Rap and even American Idol with more solo artists...
