I've was diagnosed with diverticulitis last Feb. I keep having flare-ups - 7 to be exact.?

Pain is always the same. Lower left side of abdomen. Had CT scan to get diagnosis. Dr. wants colonoscopy done but won't during flare-ups or for 8 weeks after (can puncture colon). I'm scheduled for another ct scan on Mon. Drinking barium stuff so they can get a better look. My main ? is I seem to have a different body odor now. All my stool smells the same no matter what I eat. It's almost as though I can smell that same smell on my skin. My family doesn't notice it at all, but I do. I'm really worried that maybe I have cancer and NOT diverticulitis. Has this happened to anyone out there??? Thanks so much for answering.
